7 Ways to Keep Employees Engaged During the Holidays

By December 10, 2019January 13th, 2022No Comments

It’s the holiday season, and it’s time to reward your excellent staff of engaged employees.

By now, you know that engaged employees are passionate about their jobs. They also are more productive and profitable for companies.

So how are you going to keep your employees engaged this year? We’ve got seven tips to help you out.

Reward great work for the past year

The holidays are a great time to recognize your employees. Year-end awards are the perfect way to keep employees focused on work with the holiday season looming.

Acknowledge it’s holiday time

While you want to respect all of your employees’ religious and personal traditions, you can acknowledge it’s a special time of year. Don’t be afraid to decorate for the holidays and let your employees know they should too.

Create a holiday schedule

Are you going to schedule an all-employee meeting on Christmas Day? Probably not. But it is a good idea to remind employees what the holiday schedule is and to make sure you have proper staffing.

Review year-end goals and set new ones

Did you do what you set out to do this year? You need to have full transparency with engaged employees. They’ll feel valued and see how they fit into the bigger picture at your company. And it’s also the best time to set your new goals so your employees will be motivated and ready once they come back from holiday vacations.

Charity work and giving

Life doesn’t have to be all business, especially during the holidays. You can designate a charity for gifts or even take a half-day and volunteer at it.

Offer a flexible schedule

Instead of trying to have everyone come into work every day, offering a flexible schedule could reap huge dividends for your company. By providing employees with options to go in late or leave early, you give them the time to meet increased social obligations. This can also help employees recharge and be ready for a great 2020.

Help your employees plan for the year ahead

There’s no better time to set goals than at the end of a year. Your engaged employees will welcome the opportunity to work with you on a new set of goals for the year ahead.
