Where do I find my Company ID?

When you create your commuter benefits account, you will need to know your company ID. If you have received a welcome email, you will find your company ID in that email. If you have not received a welcome email, your benefits administrator will be able to provide your company ID to you.

How do I activate my Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard®?

You can activate your card online on the card management page. You will need the 4 digit activation code that you created when you placed the order (this is not the same as your debit PIN).

How do I find the balance of my Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard?

On the side menu, select Card Management. Your card balance is displayed under “Your Current Card”.

Where can I use my Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard?

The Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard is accepted at Transit Agencies, fare vending machines, vanpool providers and designated transit retail centers where only transit products are sold. Use your Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard the same way you would use a debit or credit card.

How do commuter benefits work?

Commuter benefits allow you to use tax-free money to pay for qualified commuting costs, so you end up saving money on your income taxes. Monthly tax-free allowable limits:

  • Transit and eligible vanpooling: $265
  • Qualified commuter parking: $265
  • Combined parking and transit benefits: $530

What commuting expenses are covered, and what is not covered?

Covered:

  • Bus, ferry, train, trolley tickets and passes
  • Parking expenses (meters, garages and lots)
  • Vanpool fees (including uberPOOL, Via and Lyft Line)
  • Bike maintenance and repairs

Not covered:

  • Tolls
  • Taxis
  • Gas/fuel
  • Mileage
  • Business trip costs
  • Airport parking fees
  • Parking fees at your home

How do I get my commuter benefits?

Your vouchers, tickets, passes and prepaid cards are shipped directly to your home via USPS. If you use a Smart Card, you can directly load funds to your account via our online platform. We can also pay your vanpool or parking provider on your behalf with direct pay.

How do I use my commuter benefits?

Vouchers can be used to purchase transit tickets or passes from participating transit operators or to pay your parking vendor. Our Commuter Check Prepaid Mastercard can be used at any qualified transit or parking operator that accepts Debit Mastercard nationwide.

Can I redeem my commuter benefits for cash?

No, you can only redeem them for qualified modes of transportation and parking expenses to get to and from work.
