OUR COMPANY HISTORY

1984

The Tax Reform Act of 1984 goes into effect.

Employers can now offer employees who commute to work via public transportation a fringe benefit of $15 a month.

1985

TCRA is born under “Work/Life Benefits.”

We begin administering TCRA (a transportation and parking cost assistance program) under “Work / Life Benefits.”

1990

Commuter Check Services Corporation is born.

Commuter Check forms in 1990, becoming the first company to offer Transit Benefits in compliance with IRC 132 (f).

1992

Qualified Transit and Parking Caps both increase.

The tax-free limit for transit jumps to $60/month, and parking is capped at $155/month. Vanpools are also added.

1997

The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 goes into effect.

This legislation amends the tax code and allows qualified parking to be provided to employees in place of salary.

1998

Work-Life Benefits gets a new name.

Work-Life Benefits gets a brand new name and becomes known as Accor Services North America.

1999

The parking solution WiredCommute is born.

The Dot.com era gives way to WiredCommute.com, which begins providing online parking reservations for customers.

2000

Transit Benefits required for Federal employees.

DOT, DOE and EPA employees in DC must receive Transit Benefits. They are later extended to all Federal employees.

2003

WiredCommute incorporates even more offerings.

WiredCommute branches out and begins offering both Transit and Parking Benefits for all company employees.

2005

Accor Services acquires the WiredCommute solution.

Accor Services North America begins offering Commuter Benefits by acquiring the benefit solution, WiredCommute.

2006

Accor Services acquires Commuter Check Services.

Accor Services adds to its Commuter Benefits offering with the acquisition of Commuter Check Services Corporation.

2008

San Francisco adopts a Transit Benefit ordinance.

San Fran adopts a mandatory ordinance, requiring companies to provide Transit Benefits for their employees.

2010

Accor Services becomes Edenred USA.

Accor Services North America becomes Edenred USA, which includes both WiredCommute and Commuter Check.

2014

Edenred Commuter Benefit Solutions is born.

WiredCommute and Commuter Check merge under Edenred USA to become product lines of Commuter Benefit Solutions.
